Due for a Humira Shot

I feel like I am ALWAYS one step away from a Crohn's flare up. Dr. Shafran has just put me on weekly Humira shots. I am a day overdue because the Insurance company always screws it up, but my refrigerated shipment of Humira should arrive today. Hope all is well with you guys.

Hi Scott - Just found your blog this morning and went through it all - thanks for doing this and all you've written here. I was just diagnosed last week, so I'm still in a flare and still pretty overwhelmed, but not discouraged. I'm mostly trying to figure out what I can and can't eat. And hey, I thought those stinky night sweats were just more menopause (I'm 55), but now I know better. I'll keep reading, too. (I'm at work now, so I can't log in to sign the comment, but I will when I comment from home.)

Hey Scott - I am still trying to find someone with CD (especially someone who has had surgery) who is also an athlete, and you are the closest I can find. I would like to know how you cope with both having CD and being an athlete at the same time.

Slomo - Aside from the surgery I deal with the Crohn's and atletics issue on a daily basis. I run, play soccer and have since I was a kid. Crohn's impacted my college soccer career negatively, but I proudly compete (at almost 33) with ex-professionals, current professionals and 19 year old division 1 college soccer players on a weekly basis. email me at wwwchachi@gmail.com to chat in detail. Would be glad to share my experiences...and hear about yours...
